My Story
I am an author, psychologist, educational consultant, and social activist with over 25 years of experience teaching creative writing, public speaking, and theatre. I am deeply committed to education and social equity, and I actively support underprivileged students through financial aid while organizing enriching educational programs for government schools.
My published works include Look, There Are Vowels in My Words!, a children’s book created to support learners in government schools; Sugar ‘n’ Spice and Everything Nice! – Tales from Neeradha’s Kitchen, a family recipe collection interwoven with warm, personal anecdotes; and Relationship Ragas – 1 and its sequel Ragas in Ink, both co-authored with a collective of writers.
Through my storytelling, I celebrate creativity and human diversity while exploring themes of magical realism, spirituality, environmental awareness, and philosophy.
My Journey into Storytelling
I began writing tales and poems as ideas arrived—sometimes born of memory, my own and others’, and sometimes sparked by images that drifted through my dreams. My childhood and youth were immersed in theatre, elocution, creative writing, dance, and drama—disciplines that shaped my imagination and the way I perceive the world.
I went on to major in Psychology and completed my postgraduate studies with an MSc in Child Development and Family Counselling. My subsequent work with social service organizations deepened my awareness of the vast inequalities within our society and strengthened my resolve to contribute meaningfully to the education of socially disadvantaged children.
Education, Creativity & Purpose
This journey led me to establish Creativity Unlimited, Centre for Learning, the fulfilment of a long-held belief that creative thinking can be nurtured and taught to children in joyful, interactive, and empowering ways. My years as a Creative Writing Trainer, combined with a deep curiosity about human psychology and a natural inclination towards spiritual and mystical inquiry, have profoundly shaped both my worldview and my writing.
My books and blogs emerged organically from this confluence of experience, reflection, and imagination. A significant turning point in my journey as a writer came through my association with an erudite group of writers and authors whose encouragement, guidance, and mentorship inspired me to share my work with a wider audience.
My Writing World
My stories do not follow a rigid pattern. Some engage with life’s larger questions, while others offer an escape into the realms of fiction. Within these pages, readers will find a blend of philosophy, personal reflection, and a subtle touch of magic. I enjoy weaving elements of fantasy into the fabric of everyday life, allowing the ordinary to brush against the extraordinary.
My protagonists are often everyday individuals whose lives become unexpectedly entwined with forces beyond the familiar. Through their journeys, I explore the nature of reality and offer insights into society and human behaviour.
